Erastus Ingersoll was born on November 9, 1782 in Lee, Massachusetts to Deacon and Sarah (Parsons) Ingersoll. He married Sally Smith in March 1806 in Victor, New York. He was the first settler of Delta Township, MI in the summer of 1836. Erastus built the first Saw Mill. He served as the county coroner, appraiser, township supervisor and various other positions.
